On June 29, the work deployment and launching conference of the Heilongjiang Provincial Collaborative Innovation and Promotion System for the Hemp Industry was held in Harbin. The conference clarified key tasks for scientific research, demonstration implementation and technical services of the provincial hemp industry in the current year, marking the full rollout of special initiatives to boost quality, efficiency and high-quality development of the provincial hemp industry.
At the conference, Researcher Zhang Liguo from the Institute of Industrial Crops, Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Chief Expert of the system, delivered a special report on the overall planning of the system. He systematically illustrated its organizational structure, the development status of the hemp industry in Heilongjiang, key work arrangements for the whole year and implementation standards for on-site delivery. Experts of all positions under the system delivered speeches in turn, sorting out existing scientific research achievements based on their respective research fields. They finalized the core research and development list for 2026 focusing on key directions including hemp germplasm innovation, biological research and development, standardized cultivation, remote sensing monitoring and fiber deep processing.
The stationmaster of Suihua Technical Promotion and Experimental Station delivered a statement on behalf of all six grassroots technical promotion stations across the province, introducing implementation plans for technical application at grassroots demonstration bases, targeted services for hemp enterprises and driving the development of regional characteristic industries. Heilongjiang Jinhetian Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a leading local enterprise in medicinal hemp, attended the conference as a representative demonstration base. It presented the enterprise’s production and sales operation status, put forward technical demands for industrial innovation, and pledged to fully support the transformation of scientific research achievements under the hemp industry system.
It is learned that the hemp industry system is built under the all-industry-chain integrated development philosophy, with participants including research institutes, universities, agricultural technical promotion institutions and key industrial enterprises. It has integrated multiple provincial research institutions and universities such as Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Medical University, Heilongjiang University, Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences and Qiqihar University, bringing together 20 industrial experts and persons-in-charge of six demonstration bases for joint research and breakthroughs.
Going forward, the Collaborative Innovation and Promotion System for the Hemp Industry will fully integrate resources from various projects under the Provincial Agricultural Innovation Program. It will ramp up research, development, industrialization and promotion of core hemp technologies, shore up weak links in the industrial chain, comprehensively drive efficiency improvement and upgrading of the provincial hemp industry, and support Heilongjiang in fostering a cold-regional hemp characteristic industrial cluster worth 10 billion yuan.
